Ask Uncle Sigmund is an on-line mental health information service, sponsored by the Appalachian State University Counseling and Psychological Services Center. You are welcome to ask a question, or you may read questions and responses others have submitted.

Uncle Sigmund omits information that might identify you in your questions. You cannot be tracked electronically, so Uncle Sigmund is not able to send a response to you personally.

If you are in an emotional crisis, please do not rely on Uncle Sigmund for help; please come to the Counseling and Psychological Services Center (262-3180) on the first floor of Annas Student Services Building, down the hall from the post office.

If you are in crisis and need emergency services after hours, call campus police at 262-2150 and ask to speak to a counselor.
