Ask Uncle Sigmund a question | Home

Uncle Sigmund knows that eating disorders are common among college students. It is estimated that one to three percent of women will have an experience with bulimia or anorexia at some point in their lives. Although more common in females, the numbers of eating disorders among male college students are growing. Uncle Sigmund encourages questions concerning eating, whether it is facts about anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, or concerns about friends and how to help. There are many places for people to receive help: the ASU Counseling Center, private practitioners, or special programs at certain hospitals designed for those with eating disorders. It can also be helpful for friends and family to receive support and education as they support their loved ones.
